I have tested the function Lock to SP... At least on the 337 there's a submenu: Enter SPCK-code. There are 5 attempts, which is showed (05 attempts). At final attempt the phone beeps as a warning, 'this is the final try', when entering the menu... Wrong code exits the menu, so you are not stuck in something... When you have tried to enter the code (wrong) all five times, the menu is deactivated, and you'll get: 'Not allowed' when entering <-**<-
A "secret test mode" can be accessed on the GH337. There seems to be two methods:> * < < * > * displays software version, such as 940810 1310
> * < < * < * displays software version, such as 951024 1054
After entering this mode, the < and > keys scroll through a menu. There seems to be different menus for different versions of software.
Software version number are apparently a date and time stamp.
940810 1310 version commands:
TEXT CHECK - shows 254 messages in current language
NIT EEPROM MMI - resents NVRAM settings (User Settings).
Other, probably more recent version:
FLASH - will restart the phone, to the point of entering PIN numbers. You can't kill a 337 when pressing YES while it says "FLASH?", you must connect it to 5/12 volts first to be able to erase the flash-memory.
1-ROW TEXTS - scroll through 174 single line text messages with < and >
n-ROW-TEXTS - scroll through full-screen messages with < and >
950626 1405 version commands:
CXC (number) - The Application software's "product number". The GH337/GF337 is always "CXC 125 005"
PRG - Indication for Programming
Programming 337
Set ComPort to 9600bps, 8 data, 1 stop, no parity.
Power on phone by pressing "NO/ENDpwr".
When performing its powerup sequence the phone will send two ">>"
(ASCII 62 decimal) characters. Within 1 second, reply to it by
sending the 4 character sequence "TP1".
(I used Procomm Plus with this script "eric.asp")
[proc main ]
[start: ]

Accessing the Service Program that is not provided with the 388.
1. Connect the 388 to Cable with RS232/TTL converter.
2. Set Comport to 9600bps, 8 data, 1 stop, no parity.
3. Power ON, wait for "2" and send "0B" to the phone. DO NOT Press ENTER.
4. R should be on screen.
5. Send TEST.BIN. (Send as a binary file)
6. 388 should answer "SP,OK".
7. R should be on screen.
DO NOT write or read from the IMEI or SPCK area! If you try that you can send the phone to service at once, because you will automatically write FE or EF to EVERY cell in the EEPROM. In other words, all the calibration values for the radio is overwritten... (NOT good)
Some commands in the ServiceProg:
eere read from eeprom
eewe write eeprom
lime xxxx xxxx xxxx xxx Learn imei no. Returns Error.

5. send pre_xxx.bin to the MS.
6. You should recieve a ">".
7. send "0B" again.
8. R should be on screen
9. send prodload.bin to the MS.
10. recieve ">".
Done, I don't have the above files so please don't ask for them.
Interesting Informating (well I thought so :)
The names on the files, sj.....X45 tells you a couple of things. "sj" stands for Sofia-Jane, thats the internal name for the model and x45 stands for "sub-model". The 388 is called model 4/5. The latest 337 phones is called "cr", like in Cost Reduction. They rebuilt the oscillator from a bought-in to one built up with discrete components and that was cheaper.

1. This is three different channels things depending on the phone state.
a. When the phone is idle, this shows "Bxxx". "B" stands for "Broadcast channel" (a logic GSM channel)b. When a phonecall is in progress, this shows "Sxxx". S stands for "Stand Alone Dedicated Control Channel" SDCCH for short.
c. When the phoncall in up, this shows "Txxx". "T" Stands for Traffic channel. The "xxx" thing is the channel number, 1-124.
2. This shows Rx Level. The values displayed is from 0 to 63. Rx Level is a indicator on how good your reception is for the moment. 0 is a signal strength of -110dBm. 63 is approx -45 to -50dBm.RXLEV is measured in dBm in such a way that incoming signal equals -110.5+RXLEV so that a RXLEV at 50 equals an incoming signal strenght at -50.5 dBm (plus or minus max deviation 0.5dBm)
3. This shows the output power in dBm.
4. This shows the timeslot used for the moment. You can see it when making a call.
5. This shows Rx Quality. Rx Quality is a measurement of how much error correction is required to the speech. 0 indicates none and as the figure rises you hear more pings and pongs on the speech as large parts of the frame are missing. If you have more RxQ then 5, you are on good way to loose your call. RxQuality reads 0-7.RXQUAL is measured by using a table wereas the biterrorrate or BER is interesting and measured in %
RXQUAL table
0 BER < 0,2 (%)
1 0,2 < BER < 0,4
2 0,4 < BER < 0,8
3 0,8 < BER < 1,6
4 1,6 < BER < 3,2
5 3,2 < BER < 6,4
6 6,4 < BER < 12,8 (here we have lost half a burst)
7 12,8 < BER
6. This shows the timing advance. The BS tells the MS to send before it should just make sure that the MS burst is comming to the BS on the right time. The TA is measured in halfbits so the distance to the BTS can be calculated as follows=1,11*TA/2. TimingAdvance reads 0-63. Co-incidentely this tells you how far you are from the base site in 550metre chunks, up to the theoretical max of 35.2km.

Erricson WAP Mobile Phone Bug Allows Wiretapping
Summary
Erricson's WAP, Wireless Application Protocol, suffers from a security flaw that allows attackers to listen into other WAP sessions traveling on the cellular carrier wave.
Details
Erricson Mobile Phone allows attackers to wiretap other lines. This attack is limited, since you cannot choose which number to wiretap on, and you cannot talk at the same time that you are wiretapping a line. This vulnerability shows the lack of security of WAP as it is offered in today's cellular networks.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Wiretapping is illegal. The following information is just a proof of concept that shows a potential vulnerability in Erricson's WAP implementation.
How to wiretap from an Erricson Cell Phone:
1) Type 904059
2) Menu
3) Yes
4) 1
5) RCL
6) Yes
7) 8300**
8) Yes
9) 86
(Instead of the ** you can write any number you wish, except for the number 00)
To stop the wiretapping:
1) Type RCL
2) 3
3) Yes

Free phone calls using the GA628
This trick has only been reported working on PREPAID GSM CARDS and in some countries and with some sw versions.
The prepaid GSM SIM CARD is a kind of "SIM card" which only has a sertant amount of credit on it (like a normal phonebox telecard)... if it can be traced? - we don't know...
Well..here's the trick you dial the no. normally and press YES. While "connecting" is shown on the screen, the following procedure should be carried out: Press CLR then 0 then # and then NO (twice) so as to switch OFF the phone. You can then still speak on the phone while it is switched off but the SIM card does not record your calls which will lead to FREE phone calls in some countries.. we hope!!
Another variant of the code
Make a Call, while the phone says Connecting type 083# (the position 83 must be empty! ), when phone says Pos Emtpy, press the NO key and turn off the phone.
If you can make the call with the phone turned off you will face a problem when you need to hang up the phone...the only way for you to do that is remove the battery...???

What is GSM ?
GSM was first introduced in the Finland in the year of 1991. GSM mobile phones operate on the TDMA systems. In the TDMA (time division multiple access system), multiple users can access single radio frequency without any interference. GSM is now the de facto standard for the mobile communication in the world.
The GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is a hugely successful wireless technology in the world. GSM has become the world’s largest growing communication technology and it has been expand in more than 214 countries of the world. The TDMA technology provides the individual time slot within a specific channel for each user.
GSM leads the world as the fastest growing mobile/wireless digital technology that is most reliable and is available in the marketplace today. GSM provides the integrated high-speed data, fax, voice mail, paging and short messages services features. GSM offers the secure communication, privacy and fraud prevention.
After subscribing to the GSM service, you can use your phone at your home, office, across the continent or around the world with the country specific SIM cards. GSM operates on the different frequency levels like 900 MHz, 1800 MHz or 1900 MHz.
1900Mhz is used in the North America and 1800 MHz is for the other locations. Different mobile phone networks around the world operate at different frequencies. If you wish to use your mobile phones outside of your GSM frequency range then you should use a mobile/handset that support multiple frequencies. Before buying a mobile phone, make sure that it is compatible with the different bands of the GSM.
Dual-band – A dual band phone operates at different spectrum like 900 MHz and 1800 MHz. Dual-band GSM works in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Sound America.
Tri-band – A tri band phone operates on the three different frequency levels like 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 1900 MHz. This means that you can use your mobile phone in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and North America.
Quad-band – A quad band GSM capable phone allows you to roam almost everywhere in the world. It covers the different frequency ranges like 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 1900 MHz. 99% countries in the world use the GSM standard and it seems that GSM will eventually be the only cell phone standard in the mobile communication world. GSM provides the best voice quality and standard.
Today, there are more than 720 GSM mobile networks across the more than 214 countries. According to the recent statistics, there are more than 2 billion users of the GSM in the world. Major GSM using countries includes China, Russia, United States and India. A mobile phone can be a bewildering affair for a traveler. It is mostly incompatibility with the network of your visiting country, since every country in the world has different frequency band of operation. With a GSM enable mobile phone you can access more than 214 countries around the globe.
GSM is a state of the art technology offering voice, data, fax and SMS capabilities. Most of the mobile phone operators now offers email to SMS service by which you can receive the important news, flight status and other useful information on your mobile phone. Many operators give access to the ISDN services by which fast data transmission is possible. Many other offers GPRS (Global Packet Radio Service) with this service you can connect to the high speed data communication channel like 9600 bps. The two major GSM service providers in the US are the T-mobile and Cingular.

Introduction to the Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity)
Here you will learn how to setup wi-fi network, how wireless fidelity works, hotspot security, vpn servers. Wi-Fi or wireless fidelity is meant for to be used when referring any type of 802.11 network, whether 802.11, 802.11a and dual band. Any products tested and approved as Wi-Fi certified by the Wi-Fi alliance are interoperable with each other.
Typically, any Wi-Fi product using the same radio frequency will work with each other even if not Wi-Fi certified. Formerly the term Wi-Fi was used only in the place of the 2.4 GHz 802.11b standard in the same way Ethernet was used.
Wi-fi short for wireless fidelity refers to a set of wireless networking technologies and more specifically referred to as any type of 802.11 network, 802.11b and 802.11a and dual band. The word Wi-Fi was built by an organization named as Wi-Fi alliance. A product that undergoes the Wi-Fi alliance analyses is given the name Wi-Fi certified. Wi-Fi rapidly gained the fame in the United States with the access point. These devices tested by the “Wi-Fi alliance” are used around the world and allow users to have Wi-Fi capable device like a PDA or Laptop to connect anywhere there is availability of Wi-Fi access point. There are currently three standards that are used to signify the speed of the connection. Both the 802.11a and 802.11b are the capable of 54 Mbps with 802.11a additional features. The most common standard is 802.11b/second because it can transmit the data at 11 Mbps.
All these Wi-Fi connections are fast enough to allow the broadband internet connection. Wireless Fidelity is a fastest growing wireless technology that will probably be as common as phone lines and electric devices. Wi-Fi adds great levels of convenience and high level of production.
Wireless fidelity is planned to be used with the wireless devices but it is most commonly used for internet access. With Wi-Fi you can connect computers in your home, office or anywhere without the need of wires. The computers can just connect to the network that uses radio waves.
How does W-Fi work?
Wi-Fi is the wireless technology to handle the networking/communication. Wi-Fi allocates internet connection globally and to be transmitted by the radio waves. Radio waves are the main cause of Wi-Fi. Radio waves are transmitted from antenna and Wi-Fi receivers pick them up. When a user receives the Wi-Fi signals, a wireless internet connection is produced and a user is prompted to provide the user name and password if required to establish a wireless connection.
What is Wi-Fi Security?
Wi-Fi maintains certain security issues. WEP or Wired Equivalent Privacy is used in the physical and data link layers. It was planned to provide the wireless security by protecting the data, while it transmits from one point to another. Wi-Fi networking usually maintained inside a building premises. The data transmission in the Wi-Fi is protected by Wireless LANs but due to the fact that data travels over the radio waves so there are chance that data can be exposed and capture.
How to secure your WiFi network?
When you buy a wireless router you might find an Installation CD by vendor that CD with guide you through a wizard on setting up router. Here are some suggestions that how can you setup security on the router without using the application software.
1. Open a new browser.
2. You may now type IP address of the router in your browser. The step here is where you can get the management system of the router. Due to different vendors, you need to lookup on your router’s manual for the IP address usually it may be 10.10.10.01, 196.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, 100.100.100.1 or something similar to those matches and the default password of the router. Every router management console is different from each other. Try exploring around and find the appropriate section to manage.
3. You should never forget this step to setup an administrative password. The step to set here is often not located in Security section; you will need to take a look at the utilities, user management or system settings. Find it and change the password immediately for any user account.
4. Enable Wireless security. To turn on your encryption look under the wireless security tab. The step over here will need you to either use WPA or WPA-PSK and this will only appropriate if the devices on your network supported it. Otherwise you will need 128-bit WEP. For WPA or WPA-PSK, you would have to type pass phrase/password into a piece of paper and transfer to thumb drive so that you can set the password in the client’s machines.
5. Change your SSID. You should not make your SSID this will be probably a default SSID, normally those who do not configure their SSID will have their router name such as “linksys”, “belkin”, “dlink” etc. Try changing it with someone menacing, which will be threat for them to connect. Like virus geek, virus spreader. Remember that you will need this SSID when you browse through the network from your client machines. You can find these settings in the section of Channel or SSID.
6. Save your configurations and settings by pressing the save changes or save settings button. You will need to save every change that you will make to the router in order to it can take effect and probably you will have to reboot your router multiple times.
Congratulations, finally you have covered the basic settings for your Wi-Fi network
Wi-Fi Hotspot Security: Using VPNs
There are numerous security issues regarding the use of the public wireless networks but all of which can be overcome. One of the solutions for users, as brought up in Wi-Fi Hotspot security, is to use the VPN (Virtual Private Network) to secure the real time traffic of the Wi-Fi hot spot users. Many small to large businesses provide their employees with the VPN access.
Although this access is typically put in place for employees to have the remote access to the corporate network in order to access the files and documents remotely. If you don’t have access to any VPN servers, create your own. By doing this you can remotely access the files from your office as well as other devices such as Wi-Fi video camera to keep an eye on the things while away.
When using the software-based VPN server features in Windows XP Pro, the PC running the server has to be powered-on to access the home network from the Wi-Fi hotspot. VPN routers can cost as low as $70 to $130 and the popular models are Linksys, WRV200 and WRV5G.

The VOIP service is available for both residential and commercial use that ranges from PC-to-PC service and PC-to-Phone and Phone-to-Phone. The following are the most common and basic features of the VoIP.
VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL FEATURES
The major feature of the VoIP is that the customers can make call to everywhere in the world. Only the broadband internet connection is required. The customers can take their IP phones with them on the national trips as well as on the International trips. Among the other features of the VoIP are the soft phones, which is a software application that loads onto the computer and is used to make the phone calls. The interface of these softphones is similar to the telephone. By these software phones, anyone call make phone calls to everywhere in the world if broadband internet connection access is available.
The most VOIP services also gives the access and options of call waiting, caller id, call transfer, repeat dialing and three way dialing features. There are some additional features like call filtering, forwarding a call or sending a call to the voice mail, but the service providers may charge additionally for these services. Most VoIP service providers allow the customers to check their voicemail or attached messages to an e-mail by connecting to the web.
The facilities and the components of a VoIP phone system that are supplied by the VoIp providers and phone operators are generally vary with each other. The users should be aware of the pros and cons of the VoIP services before subscribing. Also, the customer should also check the availability of the 24/7 cutomer support that may be required fro the VoIP hardware as well as software configurations and for other technical issues.
How IP Telephony Fits In
Among the other names in the VoIP industry, the Skype and Vonage are the biggest names and all the credit for the growth of VoIP goes to Skype and Vonage. There are a large number of other vendors for the telecommunication industry that have promoted the “IP telephony”. As well as the Cisco Systems and Avaya were two of the earlier names in the VoIP phone system technology. The have paved the way for the growth of VoIP technology. More and more residential customers are using the VoIP service likewise the corporate customers are integrated the IP based-voice technology and upgrading their IP networks to support the VoIP technology. This transition is similar to the move from mainframe computers to the personal computers a couple of years ago
HOW DOES VOIP OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL WORKS
Voice Over Internet Protocol also called Internet Telephony and internet telphony is the technology fo future. With this technology you can make free of cost and very cheap long distance calls all over the world. VoIP uses a broadband Internet connection for routing telephone calls as opposed to the switching and fiber optics. By this process the customer can get the higher efficiency and quality of service as well as low cost. One major and interesting aspect of the VoIP technology is that there is no major infrastructure is required.
The VoIP infrastructure includes the broadband Internet connection, regular telephone line and VoIP software and hardware. Communication of the data (fax, computer), voice (telephone, mobile phones) and video (video conferencing, web conferencing) over a large distance through a medium such as fiber optics, internet and radio waves is known as telecommunication.
There are a number of the telecommunication systems in the world that work in the different forms. Most of the telecommunication systems of the world are connected with each other through satellite to form a big network. Telecommunication is the process of sending and receiving the electrical signals over all large distance. This is the process of communicating the data and information such as voice, data, video, audio and graphics.
There are certain mediums of a telecommunication system such as coaxial cable, fiber optics, radio frequency and air etc. The modern telecommunication system involves all the telecommunication technologies such as computer networking, broadcasting, mobile communication, internet, VOIP, cable television and satellite communication systems. A telecommunication network is a network of nodes and links and the communication signals passes through one link to another.
A telecommunication system builds a hierarchical transmission system in which signals are transferred from node to node and till they reach their destinations. A computer network, public switched telephone network, TELEX and internet are also involved in the telecommunication system. Telecommunication technology has provided the ease of connecting and communicating with the remote areas of a country.
A telecommunication system is designed by the telecommunication engineers and due to the invention of the fiber optic cables; more bandwidth is available for the data transfer and communications. There are three main components involves in the telecommunication system i.e. transmitter, medium, receiver. A transmitter sends the information in the form of electrical signals through a medium and receives takes the information and converts it in the readable form. Modulation is the process of shaping, processing and sending the communication signals. This function is carried out by a device known as modem.
Modem is used to coverts the digital signals to analog and analog signals to digital signals. There are many advanced technologies devices and protocols that are associated with the telecommunication technology such as routers, switches, ISDN lines, fiber optic cables, socket programming, X.25 and many other technologies. A telephone exchange is a hub of the telecommunication system and through the telephone exchange we are connected with the internet and we are able to transmit the voice, data, video and other forms of the communication signals. A computer network when covers the broad shape known as WAN.

This topic will let you know about mobile technologies, mobile phones, wireless communication introduction, overview to gsm, gprs, sms and mms reviews. A cellular or mobile phone is a long range portable electronic device for communication over long distance.
Current Mobile Phones can support many latest services such as SMS, GPRS, MMS, email, packet switching, WAP, Bluetooth and many more. Most of the mobile phones connect to the cellular networks and which further connected with the PSTN (Public switching telephone network).
Mobile Network Technology
Mobile phones and their network vary very significantly from provider to provider and country to country. However the basic communication method of all of them is through the electromagnetic microwaves with a cell base station. The cellular companies have large antennas, which are usually mounted over towers, buildings and poles. The cell phones have low-power transceivers that transmit voice and data to the nearest sites usually within the 5 to 8 miles (8 to 13 kilometers away).
When a mobile device or phone is turned on, it registers with the mobile telephone exchange or switch. It is a unique identifier and is alerted by the mobile switch when there is an incoming phone call.
The handset listens for the strong signals from the nearest base stations. When a user moves, the mobile device handoff to various nearest sites during phone calls or while waiting between calls it reselect the nearest cell phone sites.
Cell sites have relatively less power radio transmitters. They broadcast their presence and relay communications between the mobile handsets and the switch. On the other hand, the switch connects the call to the same or another mobile network or subscriber.
The dialogue between the mobile phone handset and the cell phone site is a stream of the digital data, which includes the digitized audio. This technology depends on the same system as of mobile phone operator. Some mobile phone technologies have adopted the AMPS for the analog communication and D-AMPS, CDMA2000, EVDO, GSM, UMTS, and GPRS for the digital communication. Each mobile phone network has a unique radio frequency.
There are different mobile communication methods, such as SMS, WAP, WLAN, WIFI, GPRS, Bluetooth, Infrared, IrDA and I-Phone etc. Mobile phones are different from the cordless telephones because they only operate within the specific range. Many types of the mobile computers have been introduced including the Laptop computer, Subnotebook, Portable data terminal (PDT), Personal digital assistance (PDA), Tablet personal computer and smart phone.
Mobile phone features
Mobile phones have features beyond sending text messages and making the short or long distance voice calls, the other features including internet browsing, mp3 playback music, email, personal organizer, built in cameras, MMS, PPT, SMS, call registries, built in games, voice mails, downloading, video call, Bluetooth, infrared and they also serve as the wireless modem for a pc. In many countries of the world such as Australia, Pakistan, India, Maldives and Israel the incoming calls are free. However, in Canada, Hong Kong and the United states a person can be charged per minute for the incoming calls. Few mobile phones carriers in the United States are beginning to receive unlimited phone calls. Mobile technology has both negative and positive impact on every day’s life.
Health impact
Since the invention of the mobile phones many concerns have been raised about the potential health from the mobile phones. Study at the Danish Institute of cancer epidemiology does not show any link between cancer and mobile phone usage. This study only covers the analog phone usage till 1995. However the study by the International Agency for research on cancer shows link between cellular phone usage and tumor frequency.
Mobile dating
Mobile dating also known as cell dating and it allows users to chat, meet and possible involves in romance by SMS, chatting and the web. These services allow their subscribers to provide information about themselves in a short profile and which is stored in the cell phone sets as a dating ID. The users can search for the other IDS or call at a number given to them by the service. Users can find others with the criteria of age, location and gender. Most of these sites are free to use but the standard fees of SMS and dating service charges can apply per minute. Mobile dating websites focus attention on users that share the same social network and proximity.
Some cellular companies offer services such as homing device. This service alerts the users when someone is within the thirty feet of the user. Some cellular companies use Bluetooth technology to connect the users in the bars, clubs and social gatherings and this service is called proximity dating. These services are more popular in European countries, United States, Australia and Canada. Mobile dating websites are gaining popularity.
Mobile Learning
M-learning’ is the follow up of E-learning and which originates from D-learning (distance learning). M-learning is the delivery of education to the students who are not having fixed location or who prefer to use mobile phone technology for learning. The rapid growth in the mobile and communication sector make it possible to develop new forms of education. M-learning means delivery of education by means of the mobile phone devices, PDAs and audio players. M-learners seek the lessons in the small format.
Mobile software
Windows mobile, Palm OS and Symbian OS supports typical application binaries as found on the personal computers. Windows mobile also supports portable executable format which is associated with the .NET Framework. Both Windows Mobile and Palm OS provide free SDK and integrated development environment for the developers. BREW is another format which gives complete control of the handset and access to all its functions. Java (J2ME, Java ME) runs atop a virtual machine, which allows reasonable functionalities. Because of the extra security and compatibility, it is quite simple to write, distribute and execute the mobile Java applications.
Mobile Internet
According to the many sources, one of the major factors of the usage of mobile internet is its speed. Mobile internet has faster connection. Due to this fact, many users tend to use mobile internet. The introduction of the 3G cards has a competitive high speed. All the current service providers and trying to increase their bandwidth to get more customers. The numbers of mobile phones that are cable of surfing the net have been increasing rapidly. One of the greatest problems when browsing the net on the cell phones is the small size of the screen. Because of this many developers are developing the websites that can easily be seen on the cell phones as well.
Mobile society.
Ongoing debates about the cyberspace, e-computing and E-commerce have suggested that the online world somehow will be dramatically different from the life in the analog world. It is true that E-commerce continues to grow and the specific locations of the persons and businesses do not matter that much anyone. This is also true that now we are seeing forums, blogs, discussion groups and social network to re-socialize and form new tribes on the internet. It seems that every day we are increasingly connected via technologies such as email, cellular phones, instant messaging and all of these technologies are increasingly interconnected with each other. When we communicate on our cell phones, we are also mobile in the sense that we can move freely while in the constant communication.

ATM NETWORK TECHNOLOGY
ATM NETWORK TECHNOLOGY
This tutorial provides the basic introduction to atm network technology, packet switching, cell base, telecommmunication technology, high speed bandwidth usage in this technology. ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) is a high speed network technology that has become the standardized solution for the telecommunication industry, teleconferencing, videoconferencing, telemedicine, HDTV, distance learning and where high speed data transfer is required.
ATM technology integrates voice, data and video at the same time. ATM uses fixed size packets called cells of 55 bytes in length. ATM network is a high speed circuit switched network that is capable of transferring one million signals using ATM protocol. ATM is a connection oriented technology in which logical connections are established for the data communication. ATM is implemented in the WAN and telecommunication sectors. Small data cells are used for communication and ATM is designed for high speed and high traffic networks. ATM cells allow voice, data and video transfer at the same time. ATM operates on the data link layer of the OSI model and it uses UTP/STP, fiber optic or air as a communication medium.
ATM CELL BASE
It is a small unit of 55 bytes fixed length and it contains the users and signaling information in it. It has a header with very limited functionality to reduce the internal buffer and to provide the high speed transfer. ATM cell identify the cells that belongs to the same virtual channels and perform easy routing.
ATM SWITCHING
Various switching technologies have been developed in the past to provide the high speed data transfer and secure communication. ATM switching technology provides high speed data transfer due to the connection oriented technology. ATM switching technology uses the predefined routing table so guarantees the fast data communication.
ATM DEVICES
ATM basically uses two types of devices such as ATM switch and end systems. The function of the switch is to handle the transmission of the cells throughout the network. Switches accept the incoming cells from the ATM end station or another ATM switch. On the other hand, ATM end systems contain the ATM adaptors.
ATM CONNECTIONS
ATM supports two types of connections point to point and point to multi point connections. In the point to point connections, two end systems are connected bi directionally or uni directionally. The point to multi point system connects one source to the number of destinations in uni directional. The source sends the information and switch replicates it to the destinations. Unidirectional network connects two switches. A typical ATM network consists of a set of the switches interconnected by point to point links. Switch support two types of interfaces user network and network node interface. Asynchronous transfer mode technology is designed for the reliability, performance, utilization and QOS and it creates fixed channels and routes when data travels between two points. There are four types of the choice when purchasing a connection.
Constant Bit Rate: It specifies fixed size rate and data is transferred in a steady form. Variable bit rate.
Variable Bit Rate: It provides specified throughput and it is best for videoconferencing.
Available bit rate. It provides guaranteed minimum capacity but high rate is also possible when the network is free.
Unspecified bit rate. It does not provide any fixed throughput level and it is best for the file transfer where delay can occurred.
ATM ADVANTAGES
It provides fixed bandwidth and simple routing is possible due to the connection oriented technology. High bandwidth utilization can be possible so it is the best solution for the telecommunication sector, videoconferencing and QOS. There are some of the disadvantages of this technology such as high cost, cell loss due to the high congestion in the network.
If know more of the stuff ! ,may input .

BSNL Internet trick in INDIA
Thursday, April 15, 2010
For connection on your mobile phone:-
1) Make two connections like bsnlportal and BSNLPORTAL1
(names of profile don’t matter, u can keep one as billgates and shahrukhkhan lol..
the basic purpose of names is to
enable the user to differentiate between the two accounts,)
2) Select the application you got to have the full connection working on.
Surpassingly “web” now just select “bsnlportal” profile and
select a link like wap.cellone.in the page will get open,
just press the red button such that the “web” application goes in the background.
Make sure that the gprs connection is still established with the web app.
Two parallel lines on the top left of the screen will confirm this.
3) Now open any other app that requires web connection like opera.
Select BSNLPORTAL and open any other link like wap.google.com, u will get error –
the aim of using the other app is to perform multi-channel gprs,
this is verified by seeing some dots on the pre-existing connection established by “web”
(step 2)
“Access denied.
Technical description:
403 Forbidden - You are not allowed to communicate with the requested resource.”
4) close opera and open web and open a site like esato.com
5) if everything is done as said here then esato will load and voila! We have the whole internet!
For connection on pc.
1)create a connection and enter the number to be dialed as *99***1#
2) enter the following string as extra initialization command
3)now dial from pc, the connection will be established
4)pick the phone and open “web” open “wap.cellone.in” the phone shows error .
5) close “web” and then from the browser open www.google.com
and voila! The whole intenet is here
settings for profiles
apn: celloneportal
ip: 192.168.51.163
port : 8080
leave other fields blank as they are of the least concern! the browser settings on pc too go the same as mentioned above!

STD,SMS, & GPRS Tricks for AIRTEL
***** Make Free ISD and STD Calls with Air tel *****
Making real free calls(not VOIP)using any network connection was not that easy till now until one of my friends told me that GREAT technique that i am going to share with you now.(keep this a secret). When he first told me I simply nodded off because I had previously published another post on how to recharge Hutch and Airtel phones without any cost(That was a joke).
When I succeeded with the trick ,we actually started calling more STD and ISD calls at no cost(U.S,Canada,Malaysia,Germany...)
Technique:
First of all you need an Airtel connection (pre-paid preferred).
The trick was to hack the Virtual Calling Card, that lets you make international calls from your mobile.
Dial 1802103 from your mobile and you will hear a welcome message from airtel and an instruction to dial your 10 digit access number. These access number will be changed randomly.I succeeded using the number 000710**** followed by # key(Last 4 digits will be given to only those who comment or sign up with their personal mail id due to security reasons).
After this you will be asked to enter the 4 digit password number.I used the password **** (removed)followed by#(See the last 4 digits of both the numbers, they are same which made it easier to hack) You also have the option of hacking that 4 numbers by yourself and sharing with us.Start the online business here.
You will hear an acceptance tone and an instruction to dial the destination number.STD numbers should start with '0' and ISD numbers with '00'.
Many of my friends are now conferencing across the whole countries in the world. And you can be a part of it until Airtel blocks it.
Easy method of using free Virtual Calling Card is given below.
Most phones support the “p” and “w” actions. On Nokia phones, if you press the “*” key repeatedly, you will see it change from “*” to “+”, then “p” and “w”.
Put simply, the dialing sequence now becomes: Airtel’s toll-free number 1802103 followed by pause, then the VCC pin and “#”, then a tone wait (for the voice prompt asking you to dial the number), then the telephone number you are trying to call, or
1802103p12345678#w0123#0012345678 (demo)
Airtel’s toll-free number is 1802103. The VCC pin is 12345678, and 0123 is the password and the telephone number is 0012345678 (country code, etc.).
{If you are not interested in making free calls the Airtel has calling cards that lets you make international calls from your mobile. It’s a physical card, but they insist on calling it virtual . Anyway, they offer better rates: with a VCC worth Rs. 561 (including taxes), you get a talktime of Rs. 500 (~ $11), and the charges are Rs. 3.50 per minute. You enjoy complete control on your STD/ISD calling.Denomination as low as Rs 112. Other denominations of Rs 225, Rs 561, & Rs 2245 also available.

Samsung Mobile Tricks And Tips-4
SAMSUNG A800 SECRET CODES
The universal unlock code is *2767*637# do this with out your sim in
By default, the firmware (software) for x600 only receives java
apps and other applications like stuff by serial port.
but even for it, you have to enable the serial port, which also
causes
the closing of all other ports, even the IrDA too :-( ..
well, guess what, i have very good news for you,
do you know, you can increase the sound level,
the sound level for tones, speaker fone, etc,
can be increase even then if it is at max (level 4)
you still can do it,
just follows the instructions!
**************** HERE WE GO **************
Enter the following code:
*#8999*8378#
(You'll be shown menu, then ...)
then go to:
"H/W test"
then go to:
"Audio Settings"
then go to:
"Melody Gain"
There will you see a number.
there are five (5) Melody Levels" of it.
(and currently, you are at level 1 and after
pressing the "save" button, you will move to
level 2 and so on .........................)
you have to change the values of all the levels.
and as the resultant, it will give increase the
melody sound!, your tones will more louder,
even more louder then the max. ringing volume.
the level wise numbers are: (as its my setting :-) )
Melody Level 1: 13
Melody Level 2: 17
Melody Level 3: 18
Melody Level 4: 25
Melody Level 5: 31
you even can make your own combinations of level wise
sounding numbers that can change the sound level!.
if your combination cause more louder sound level,
then mine,
then do share it with the group! ... :-)
meanwhile, try my figured-out combination!
************ CAUTION ************
if anything goes wrong,
then you can apply the master reset code,
that will NOT delete anything, ANYTHING from your
cell fone, but set each and eveything to its
default/standard setting ...
(likes, factory settings :-) )
the master reset code is:
#*7728#
#########################################
I take no responsibility of these codes are working or not,
or its effects on your cell fone
but i have tried these codes on my cell fone.
and i bet, nothing goes wrong,
but even then of my words, be carefull!,
#########################################
The code: *#8999*8378#
as i regarded it a informative code,
will tell you each and everything about your cell fone.
and in the "H/W test",
there are lot of other Audio settings,
each of them having five (5) levels,
you can change the combination, but before doing anything,
do write the defult number sequence to some place so that
you'll be then able to invert it again! .. :-) ...
#*2558# - Time ON
#*2527# - GPRS Switching Set to class {4/8/9/10}
#*4263# - Handsfree Mode: ACTIVATED
#*53696# - [Java dnload] WAPSAR mode
#*536961# - WAPSAR enable HTTP disable
#*536962# - HTTP enable WAPSAR disable
#*536963# - SERIAL enable Others disable
#*5663351# - [Phone Model] SAMSUNG SGH-X100
#*6420# - Mic off
#*6421# - Mic on
#*7632# - Sleep mode
*#8999*523# - Main LCD Brightness
*#8999*3825523# - (?) External display
*2767*3855# - Full EEPROM reset(Reset all type of locks)also you'll
lose pictures and java not melody
Remove camera sound:
On main screen type:
*#8999*8378# --> Test mode
H/W test
Audio Settings
Melody Gain
Then replace 6 by 0, it'll show 12 but it's OK
Press back until main screen
Then press key volume to minimum and let's try !!! no more sound

After logging in, select the area (city) to which the phone number belong and then proceed further.
In the option "Search by" , select Telephone number. select the station to which the phone no. belongs and finally write the phone number in the "Search key field" . In this way the address of that particular number will be traced.
